Panaji 23 August : Goa Police have written to the Department of Forensic Medicine at Goa Medical College for appointing the panel of doctors to conduct the post-mortem of social media actor, influencer and Haryana BJP leader Sonali Phogat (42), who died due to an cardiac arrest in Goa on Tuesday.The Deputy Superintendent of Police Jivba Dalvi has told IANS the police have registered a incident of an unnatural death has been filed in the connection with Phogat’s death.
“The post-mortem will be performed on Wednesday.” Dalvi said.
“At 9 am, on the Tuesday, news came in from the St.Anthony Hospital in Anjuna that Sonali Phogat had been taken to the hospital and later died.A preliminary investigation found that she was in Goa on the 22nd of August, and was staying in the hotel in Anjuna.On Tuesday morning she began to feel uneasy and then she was taken to the hospital, where she was declared to death,” Dalvi said.
In announcing that the statements of witnesses involved were recorded Dalvi declared, “Anjuna Police have written to the Department of Forensic Medicine at the Goa Medical College for appointing the panel of doctors to conduct the post-mortem.”
Phogat who was a proponent of social media, had shared photos and updates on Instagram hours before she breathed her last.
Phogat was a TikTok star and a ‘Bigg Boss 14’ contestant in 2020; she played the wife of Don, who was modelled after the famous Haji Mastan in the Zee TV serial ‘Amma’ with Nawab Shah.In addition, she was in the Bhojpuri film with Ravi Kishan, now the BJP MP from Gorakhpur she also she was defeated by Kuldeep Bishnoi who was in the Congress, in his family pocket borough of Adampur in the 2019 Haryana Assembly elections, contesting on an BJP ticket.
