Goa Crime Branch to probe ‘religious conversion’ case

Panaji, June 1 : Goa Police on Wednesday transferred a religious conversion case, in which Christian Pastor Dominic DSouza was arrested last week and was later released on bail, from a local police station to the Crime Branch.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Jivba Dalvi told IANS that the case has been transferred to the crime branch.

Dominic DSouza and his wife Joan were booked under the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisement) Act for allegedly using magic to convert people.Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant had expressed that the state is considering to introduce a bill to prevent forceful religious conversions in the state.
