Gayle criticizes T20 openers for their cautious approach to powerplays

Abu Dhabi, Nov 26, : Chris Gayle, West Indies cricketer, stated that the T10 sets new standards in explosive batting and entertainment.

He did however criticize the 20-over openers for "killing the game" with a more cautious approach to powerplays.

"I believe that T10 cricket was the beginning of T20 cricket.Gayle stated that batters used to be slow from the first over.

However, T20 cricket has slowed down significantly and T10 cricket is now setting the bar a bit higher." "Theyre ruining the entertainment in T20 cricket.

In those first six overs we can get more openers but they take their time.Sometimes they bat just to score and take away from the excitement they should be bringing into the batting department in those first six overs.

But T10 is spot-on and hopefully well see more of T10 "I don’t know why batters become so agitated during the first six overs. If you look back at the history of T20 cricket, you will see that guys started from ball one when T20 cricket was first introduced. That fact is not something I like.

I think we should work hard, keep the entertainment in T20 cricket, and keep that aggression going for the first six overs.Team Abu Dhabi is currently at the top of Abu Dhabi T10 with five wins from five matches.

Gayle is clearly having a lot of fun in his second year as a franchisee.Gayle is also optimistic that Team Abu Dhabi will win their first T10 title in 2018 "Absolutely, its been a great second year with Team Abu Dhabi.

Weve had a great beginning but anything can happen in so short a time in T10."Im happy where the team is at the moment and hopefully this will be Team Abu Dhabis Year." inj/bs #Gayle #criticizes #openers #approach #powerplays #Cricket #BCCI #ICC #IPL.
