Gas explosion injures 18 in Uzbekistan

An explosion and subsequent fire caused injuries to 18 men in a workers hostel in the Uzbek capital of Sergeli, according to the Uzbek Emergency MinistryIt said that the explosion set fire to a dormitory in which 43 workers were staying.

According to preliminary investigations, the explosion was caused due to the accumulation of gas in a space due to a gas pipe leaking, Xinhua news agency reported.It was extinguished in less than an hour.

All the injured were admitted to hospital with different degrees of burns, according to the ministry.There were no casualties.int/sk #Uzbekistan.
