New Delhi, Nov 26th : Uttarakhand Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami took ‘400 decisions’ in a very short time span to impress Himalayan voters to retain his government.He is due to go to polls in the Himalayan state in early next year.
Since its creation from Uttar Pradesh, the state has not had to repeat any government. Dhami made a series of announcements to counter Congress and AAP.He announced 24,000 new vacancies within the government departments, free tablets and relief of Rs 200 crore for those working in the tourism sector.
Rajnath Singh, who was visiting the state, gave him kudos, saying, “I was astonished” when Pushkar Singh Dhami said that he had made 400 decisions in four months.
Four hundred decisions in four years is not an everyday thing.
According to the BJP, Dhami has visited nearly all districts of the state and has successfully fought two rounds natural calamity.
Other achievements claimed by the Chief Minister include Vatsalaya Yojana which created a committee to review Char Dham Devasthanam Board Act.This panel was to review laws relating to the purchase of land from people from other states.The extension of one year in age limit for government job aspirants following Covid-19.
He stated that his government is working to improve air, rail, and road connectivity in order to increase tourism.
Several projects have been launched including the Vatsalaya Yojana, Mahalaxmi Yojana, for the welfare and well-being of women and newborns.
Dhami stated in a public meeting, that he had tried to reach remote villages in the state in a very short time span and ensure that the government’s benefits reach the poor.
Pushkar Singh Dhami announced that a posthumous award was made to former Chief Minister Narayan Dutt Tiwari.He also named Pantnagar industrial property in Udham Singh Nagar after Tiwari.
“Uttarakhand Gaurav Samman-2021″ — The state government will confer this award on Narayan Dutt Tiwari, former Chief Minister, renowned author Ruskin Band, Dr Anil Prakash Joshi and mountaineer Bachendri Pal,” as the CM had previously announced.
The goal is to pacify civil society that might be inclined towards AAP.
However, the Congress is not impressed by all these announcements.It says that the Congress’s failure to replace and appoint three chief ministers within a year points to the failure of the BJP.The Congress claims that the announcements are made to cover up the government’s inept state management over the past five years.
The AAP is also trying establish itself in the state.
Recently, Arvind Kejriwal toured the state and announced free pilgrimage Ayodhya and Ajmer to Kartarpur Sahib.To lure ex-servicemen to the state, the AAP has named Col.Ajay Kthiyal the CM candidate.
