Mumbai 26 Aug : Nationalist Congress Party leader and former Maharashtra Minister Anil Deshmukh collapsed in jail due to high blood pressure on Friday, officials claimed.The 71-year old Deshmukh was taken to the Sir J.J.Hospital to be treated around noon.
After a the high BP and chest pains hospital officials carried out ECG as well as other tests in the hospital as his condition stabilized.
After numerous raids of his offices and homes in Mumbai and Nagpur, he was nabbed by the Enforcement Directorate on November 2 last year in the alleged money-laundering and corruption cases.
Since his arrest, he had been admitted to the hospital on several of occasions before due to various ailments.
