Former ISI chief Faiz Hameed transferred from Peshawar Corps to Bahawalpur

Islamabad 8 August, Islamabad : The Pakistan Army has announced the transfer and the posting of three generals of three stars, including Lieutenant Gen Faiz Hameed who was named the commander of the Bahawalpur Corps, media reports reported on Tuesday.

Lt Gen Hameed was the head of Pakistans most prestigious intelligence agency The Inter-Sevices Intelligence (ISI) between June 2019 to November 2021, before he was appointed Commander of the Peshawar Corps.In the announcement on Monday the military has effectively changed the three top officers.Samaa TV reported.

Lt Gen Zia was the Commanding Officer of Bahawalpur Corps, also called XXXI Corps, and he has succeeded Lt Gen Hassan Azhar Hayat as Military Secretary.Lieutenant General Hayat served as the Military Secretary of GHQ, Rawalpindi since November 2020, when he was elevated to the three-star rank with Asif Ghafoor, and others.

Lieutenant Gen Ghafoor was named the Commander of the Quetta Corps last week.Lieutenant General Hameed was named the DG ISI on June 16, 2019.

Before the appointment of DG ISI, he held the post of Adjutant General at the General Headquarters.He assumed the command of Peshawar Corps as the Commander of Peshawar Corps on November 22, 2021.Lt General Hameed comes from Punjabs Chakwal.

He is a member of the Baloch Regiment.His previous assignments included the Chief of Staff of Rawalpindi-based X Corps, General Officer Commanding Pannu Qil, and ISIs DG,.Counter Intelligence.san/vd .
