Former AP CM Konijeti Rosaiah dies at 88

Former Chief Minister of Joint Andhra Pradesh Konijeti Rosaiah has passed away.Rosaiah family members rushed him to the hospital after his pulse dropped due to ill health on Saturday morning.

However, he died on the way to the hospital.It is well known that Roshaiya has played key roles in joint AP politics.

Rosaiah served as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh from September 3, 2009, to June 25, 2011.Later, Roshaiya served as the Governor of Tamil Nadu.

He has served as a minister to several chief ministers.

Rosaiah was elected to the Legislative Council in 1968, 1974 and 1980 on behalf of the Congress Party.

Later, he served in major positions under Congress CMs Marri Chennareddy, T Anjayya, K Vijayabhaskara Reddy, N Janardhan Reddy and Rajasekhara Reddy cabinets.He was elected to the Assembly in 2004 from Chirala.

Rosaiah served as Finance Minister in the Andhra Pradesh State Government for a long period.He introduced the AP state budget 16 times.

Rosaiah has made his mark in every budget design.However, with age, he has been staying away from politics for a long period.Several celebrities mourned his death.
