Lucknow 7th of September : More than 15 people who were allocated apartments from the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) on the 13th floor of an apartment structure in the Samajwadi Lohia Enclave, have discovered that the building doesn’t have a 13th floor. The apartment had 12 floors, and this put the residents in a state of confusion.
In the year 2015, LDA had proposed to construct a multi-storey Samajwadi Lohia Enclave in Para and in the year 2016, allotments were made by lottery. The lottery saw 15 applicants be allocated flats to be used by the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) on the 13th floor of the building.
The construction began one year later, and to date just nine floors are built.
But, in March 2021, when a number of allottees visited the LDA office to examine the status of their reservations they were informed that the apartment only had 12 floors.
Since then, they’ve been searching of LDA offices in search of an answer but without success.
An allottee stated: “I was allotted 1308 apartment at the 13th level.I deposited Rs 3 lakh instalment after selling my village land.Five years after, I was informed that the property that was allocated to me would not be built.”
LDA vice-chairman Indramani Tripathi was contacted and stated: “We will soon find an exit. One possibility is to offer these allottees flats that are vacant in the same building that have not yet been booked.”
