In Tamil Nadu, five people were killed by a gas cylinder explosion

Chennai, November 23rd : , Five people, including a firefighter, died when a gas-cylinder burst at their Chennai home in Tamil Nadu’s Salem on Tuesday morning.
The incident resulted in 17 other injuries.

Three houses adjacent to the blast site collapsed due to the impact.Padmanabhan, a Fire and Rescue officer was also among those who died.

His family used to own a house nearby.

Fire and rescue personnel from Shevapat Fire Force office raced to the scene and initiated a rescue operation.

Rajalakshmi, 80, died from her injuries at the hospital.Four bodies were found among the wreckage.

The bodies of Padmanabhan and Devi’s wives, Karthik Ram and Ennammal, were found in the wreckage and taken to Salem Government Hospital for post-mortem.

Gopi is currently undergoing treatment at Salem Government Medical College Hospital.His condition is described as critical.

Pooja Sri and Ganeshan Sudharshan were among those who were rescued from serious injuries.

Other than Padmanabhan, a firefighter officer and Devi’s wife who were both killed in the fallout of the debris, all other victims were relatives.

M.K.Stalin, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and Edappadi K.Palaniswami, leader of the opposition offered condolences for the families that had lost their loved ones.
