Top Grammy nominations for Filipino-Americans Olivia Rodrigo and H.E.R. Sawetie

Los Angeles, Nov 24, : Filipina Olivia Rodrigo, a Filipino-American, made Grammy history by becoming the first Filipina nominee and second-youngest artist to be nominated for all four categories.H.

E.R.Eight nods were received by Rodrigo, while Sawetie (Chinese, Filipina, and Black) landed two, including Best of New ArtistRodrigo, the 18-year old breakout star of the year, was nominated for her debut album, "Sour" and for the hit single, "Drivers License", for Album of The Year, Record Of The Year, Song of Year and Best New Artist.Variety.com reports.

Rodrigo follows Billie Eilishs footsteps, who received six similar Grammy nominations in 2019.H.E.R., a singer-songwriter who was born in the San Francisco Bay Area received nominations for her debut album, "Back of My Mind".H.E.R.H.E.R.is a mix of Black and Filipino, and won song of the Year at the 63rd Grammy Awards.A few months later, she made Oscar history when she won Best Original Song for Fight For You’ from Judas and the Black Messiah.
