New Delhi, Aug 21 : The fifth phase of Common University Entrance Test (CUET) examination to be used for admission into undergraduate programs in universities in 91 in the country started on Sunday with 2,36,442 applicants according to an official that the tests will be conducted on Tuesday and Monday.About 10.03 million candidates participated in the CUET exam up to the fourth stage.
University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman M.Jagadesh Kumar said the fifth phase of examinations would be held in 349 towns/cities in 235 centers.
Additionally admit cards for the 6th phase of exam which is scheduled to begin from August 24-26 will be released on Sunday.
Around 1.91 million candidates are expected to be selected in the sixth stage.
Kumar said that the majority of the applicants were allocated exam centers of their choice.
The sixth stage of examinations will be held in 385 centers in 241 cities/towns in India and nine other cities overseas -nine cities in the world – Manama, Doha, Dubai, Kathmandu, Muscat, Riyadh, Sharjah, Singapore and Kuwait City.
In accordance with the UGC that, candidates who were unable to not be able to appear in the second stage of tests due to technical reasons will be permitted in the sixth stage.
