Mumbai, Nov 24, : , Maharashtra Leader in Opposition Devendra Fadnavis and Amruta Fadnavis called on Maharashtra Navnirman Sena President Raj Thackeray, and Sharmila, at their new home, ‘Shivtirth,’ in Dadar, this afternoon. MNS Spokesperson Sandeep Deshpande clarified, as wild political speculation was triggered due to the development.
He said that the Thackeray family had invited Fadnavis couple for lunch.
He claimed that he wasn’t privy to the discussions at the private ‘house warming’ gathering of high-profile leaders.
This included talks about the BJP and MNS joining forces for the upcoming civic election to various major municipalities in the state during the first quarter 2022.
Deshpande said that several celebrities, including cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, and politicians such as Ashish Shelar (BJP leader) and Prasad Lad, have visited Raj Thackeray’s new home.
Similar to the BJP’s MNS, the MNS is well-known for taking shots at the Maha Vikas Aghadi government of Shiv Sena Nationalist Congress Party-Congress.The MNS will be finishing 2 years in office on Nov 28.
Raj Thackeray’s estranged uncle Uddhav Thackeray, along with his family, had put aside their differences and in a warm gesture, attended nephew Amit (Raj), Thackeray’s wedding in January 2019.
Just 10 months later, Uddhav Thackeray was elected Chief Minister.
The BJP-MNS remained in the Opposition ranks.
