Chennai, November 23, : Pattali Makkal Katchi founder (PMK) has urged Tamil Nadu director general of Police C.Sylendra Babu take legal action against four Tirukoilur policemen who allegedly assaulted Irula tribe women ten year ago.
However, the case must be closed and justice should be served on the women.PMK leader stated that delaying justice for the Irula women in need is like denying justice.
He called on the DGP, to do justice to those who were wronged.Suriya stars in the movie Jai Bhim.
It depicts Rajakannu, an Irula tribe youth being tortured and then killed by police officers.This was the true-life event that rocked Cuddalore in Tamil Nadu in 1993.
Suriya portrays Advocate Chandru, who helped the victims wife to get justice through her fight at the Madras High Court.After the PMK objected, T.S Gnanavel made an unconditional apology.He stated that the film was meant to show "police excess" and that it wasnt intended to harm sentiments.
