Elections to be held in United AP?

There are many unanswered questions were left with the approval of Telangana state and one among them is about the next general elections.

Many said that upcoming elections will be conducted in two states but Home Minister Sushil Kumar shinde denied the reports by saying that election will be held in combined state.

Home Sushil Kumar Shinde said it would take another three months time to complete the process of bifurcation.The minister said, “The elections will be held in united Andhra Pradesh only.

However, the Election Commission of India is the final authority in the matter of conducting the elections.” The minister added, "It took about three months for formation of the states of Jharkhand, Chattisgarh and Uttarakhand.

The same period can be expected for the formation of these two states as well," said Shinde in the interview.With this official confirmation, political equations in the state will change drastically and all the leaders will be in the election mood from now.The election schedule will be released within the next 10 days.Most likely, 2014 polls will take place in April/May.
