New Delhi, January 1, 2019 : .Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan launched on Saturday a 100-day campaign called ‘Padhe Bharat.

This is in accordance with the National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020), which emphasizes the development of a joyful reading culture in children through the availability of appropriate reading books for all ages in every language.
The minister launched the campaign by highlighting the importance of developing a reading habit in children to promote continuous learning.

The habit of reading is a good way to stimulate the imagination, improve brain development and create a learning environment that encourages children to learn.

Pradhan stressed that reading is the basis of learning.

This motivates students and develops their creativity, critical thinking and vocabulary.

He said that it helps children to relate to real-life situations and their environment.

Pradhan stressed that students must be able to read and learn for enjoyment.This environment should also allow them to develop skills in a fun and long-lasting way.

He shared with us the names of five books he had read and recommended them to others.He encouraged all people to read books, and encouraged them to make suggestions.

Children in Grades 1-8 will be the focus of Padhe Bharat’s campaign.From January 1 through April 10, the reading campaign will run for 100 days (14.1 weeks).

All stakeholders, at both the state and national level, are encouraged to participate in the campaign, which includes children, educators, parents, administrators, etc.

Each group will be given one activity each week.The focus is on reading enjoyment and the long-lasting association that reading brings to a person’s life.

This campaign aligns with the goals and vision of the Foundational Literacy and Numeracy Mission.

This 100-day campaign will be centered on Indian languages.
