The academic session for UG, PG 1st year will begin in November, and the admission process will continue till Oct 30 with a full refund on admission cancellation.
The Union Ministry of Education has announced a new calendar for UG, PG 1st year students under the revised UGC guidelines.
According to the announcement, the academic session for the freshers will now begin in November, and the next academic session will be forwarded accordingly.
Tweeting about the announcement Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said: “In view of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Commission has accepted the Report of the Committee and approved the @ugc_india Guidelines on Academic Calendar for the First Year of Under-Graduate and Post-Graduate Students of the Universities for the Session 2020-21.”
Further, the Minister added, “To avoid financial hardship being faced by the parents due to lockdown and related factors, a full refund of fees will be made on account of all cancellation of admissions/ migration of students, up to 30.11.2020, for this very session as a special case.” Tweeted Ramesh Pokhriyal.
The Union Minister has also advised all the institutions to conduct classes for six days a week and minimize any breaks and vacations to cover the lost time owing to the pandemic.
