London, Dec 8, 2008 : .Grammy-winning-singer Ed Sheeran nearly killed Elton John, the legendary English singer-songwriter, while filming their festive music video.
He kicked a “big-metal bell” and it almost hit his friend on the head. Sheeran spoke to Zane Lowe, Apple Music’s music director, about the track and said that “we just shot a Christmas music videos.Oh, mate.I almost killed him with the bell.
“On the video there’s footage of.”On the video, there’s footage of.We slowed it down, and the bell flew past my head.It would have cracked my head.
“Oh my God, what horror! It flew through the air!”
Despite the incident the singer of ‘Perfect” is thrilled with the video.
He said, “But, man.The music video is wild.We’ve parodied all of the great British music videos that were released at Christmas.
Sheeran stated that he never imagined recording a Christmas single at this stage in his career, but it was “logical” to team up and record with his mentor and friend.
He said, “It’s always the kind of thing I thought I would do when it was 60.” My manager said that he would retire if I made Christmas albums.This was the best way to work with Elton (as I have always wanted).
The ‘Shivers” singer shared earlier that John calls him every single day.It was during a conversation on Christmas Day last year when the idea for a festive single was first conceived.
He said, “Elton called me on Christmas Day to wish me Merry Christmas.He called me on Christmas Day and said, “Step Into Christmas” is number six in the charts.I’m 74 and still have f ****** chart hit, this is great! I would like to record another Christmas song with you.”
