Earthquake-like tremors felt in B’luru

A few seconds of light earthquake-like tremors were felt in Bengaluru on Friday, causing fear among the residents.

The Karnataka State Natural Disaster Management Center, (KSNDMC), clarified that the Seismographs did not show any signs of earthquake or tremorsLight tremors were felt in Bengalurus Rajarajeshwarinagar and Kengeri areas.They also heard loud thuds and other sounds.Between 11.50 a.m.to 12.15 p.m., reports of mild vibrations and tremors were received.A loud sound was also heard in neighboring Mandya-Ramnagar districts.At 12.30 p.m., a loud sound and mild tremors was heard near Jigani in the outskirts Bengaluru.Geologist Prakash stated that even though it was a minor incident, we will still have to study the matter.

We must study it and we cant take this lightly.He also stated that there was no correlation between the tremors and the incessant rains in the capital.In 2011, Bengaluru experienced a moderate earthquake.

People experienced tremors on numerous occasions prior to 2011, when a fighter jet flight caused a sonic effect.However, KSNDMC released that the data was "analyzed from our Seismic Observatories in order to identify any seismic signatures or possible earthquake signatures during this time period.
