The Telangana state government has decided to make the process of locating house numbers easy.As part of this, the authorities are working to assign a QR code to each household.
The state government is planning to expedite the digitization of house numbers for houses in Telangana.
The Digital Door Numbering (DDN) system has already been successfully implemented under the Telangana Municipal Development Project (TMDP) with World Bank funding under a pilot project in Sriramnagar, Suryapeta District.
Further developing it, a digital numbering system is also being introduced in Pragati Nagar 5th, Bachupally 17th and Bandlaguda 19th Divisions under Nizampeta Municipal Corporation.
This system has also been implemented as a pilot project in the Rajanna Sircilla district.
Scanning the ‘QR’ code assigned to each home reveals the homeowner’s name and address details.By linking through geo-tagging and linking to other government departments, tax collection and all other details will be known through that number.
The Telangana state government has decided to link the DDN project to every household across the state on an Aadhaar basis.Initially, a 16-digit digital QR code system would be implemented in 142 municipalities, and corporations.
