By Sumi KhaDhaka 4 September : The Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday stated that the main goal of her administration is to guarantee the security of food with other essential requirements of those who are impacted by the world crisis.
She made the statement when the Ambassador who is leaving of the Holy See -- Vatican Archbishop George Kocherry, Papal Nancio visited her at her official residence in Ganabhaban.
She said that Bangladesh is very committed to its close relationship with the Holy See which is awed by the dedication of numerous Christian Missionaries that have made significant contributions to the socio-cultural world.The world is suffering because of the Covid-19 pandemic as well as the Russia-Ukraine war , sanctions and counter sanctions, according to Hasina.
While congratulating the departed Vatican ambassador for his successful term in Dhaka the Prime Minister also said that he played a key role with effectiveness in fulfilling his duties as dean of the diplomatic corps.Hasina recalls her trip to the Vatican just prior to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.
Archbishop George Kocherry said that he visited Bangladesh extensively and was amazed by the overall socio-economic progress of the country.He said that they are establishing an specialized hospital with 300 beds in Gazipur where patients will receive high-quality treatment at a low costs.
The hospital is set to open in the month of July in 2023.He also requested the Prime Minister to open the hospital and also handed over a letter to her in this regard.
