Mumbai, Dec 7, 2008 : Delnaaz Iraniani will soon be seen in a pivotal part in the new show ‘Kabhi Kabhie Ittefaq Siy’.After her small stint in ‘Chhoti Sarrdaarni’, she credits the new show for helping break her image and do a non-comical role.
“Chhoti was an out and out negative.She was a strong-headed woman who wanted revenge on her husband.My character in ‘Kabhi Kabhie Ittefaq Sey” is a strong-headed woman.It’s a show that’s lighthearted and will not be full of the usual comic material.My role is very strong,” she said.
Sharing more about her role, she said: “My character is the loving sister of the house, who is unmarried and is absolutely pampered and loved by her brothers.Although she can be a little dominating, she is very affectionate and loves her children.She is a teacher, a disciplinarian, and wants everything to be perfect.”
‘Kabhi Kabhie Ittefaq Sey’, a remake of the Bengali show ‘Khorkuto,’ has been translated into Marathi.
” Both shows are doing well.What I liked most about the whole thing’s initial is that I had already worked with the production company.Second, I wanted TV.After a long time, TV is calling me back.Also, I wanted to do a good show which was not only comedy,” she said.
The actress excels in the comedy genre, but the actor in her always wanted to try different things.
“People expect me to do comedy again and again which is lovely and I feel very proud of the fact that there are very few actors who can do comedy, especially women.It’s very difficult to do stand-up comedy, but it is not as easy as playing a comic role.I feel blessed when I have a certain image that people think of me and get a smile on their faces.
“But right now I am at a stage where I want to happily work and keep working.As an actor, my desire was to do something else.
I am glad that the producers and creatives of the show gave me two very different roles.I feel that when you are trying out something different, you have to take risks in life, otherwise what’s the point,” Delnaaz concluded.
