Omicron patients are being treated at Delhi’s LNJP Hospital

New Delhi, Nov 30, : The new Covid-19 variant Omicron Omicron has been identified as the treatment for patients at Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Hospital in Delhi.

The Health Department has issued an order directing the hospital to refuse admission to patients infected by the new variant.The order stated that the Union Health Ministry had issued new guidelines to international travelers for reporting Omicron on Sunday (November 28).Omicron has been classified by the World Health Organization as a variant of concern.A separate isolation unit must be set up to indicate Omicron presence, as per the guidelines.

Lok Nayak Hospital has been designated as the hospital that will treat patients with the new variant SARS-CoV-2.Lok Nayak Hospital will designate one to several separate wards, depending on the need, for isolating or treating such patients," it said.

According to the World Health Organisation, the global risk associated with the new Covid Variant Of Concern Omicron has been deemed very high.Omicron is a highly diverse variant, with a high number mutations, including 26-32 during the spike.
