Delhi’s air quality falls again to the’very poor’ category

New Delhi, Nov 26, : Delhi-NCR registered a Friday Air Quality Index (AQI), of 380.This was after a day of measuring satisfactory to moderate levels of PM 2.5 and 10 pollutants in the air.According to System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research estimates, both pollutants fell to the’very low’ category.
“The air quality above Delhi-NCT is likely remain at the upper end in the ‘Very Poor’ category until November 26, and may drop to the lower end in the ‘Severe’ category.For effective dispersion, calm or slow winds at night are not ideal.

The air quality is expected to improve marginally, but remain at the upper end of the ‘Very Poor’ category on Nov 27 and 28, according to the Air Quality Early Warning System for Delhi (Ministry of Earth Sciences).

The air quality will likely remain in the very poor’ category.Gradual improvement is possible from November 27 to November 30, and PM2.5 will be the predominant pollutant.

An AQI of between zero and 50 and considered ‘good’, 51 to 100’satisfactory, 101 to 200’satisfactory, 201 and 300 poor’, 301 to 400’very poor’ and 401 to 500’severe’.

“The Southeast/East direction of Delhi is likely to have the predominant surface wind with a wind speed of 6 km/h, mostly clear skies and low fog in the morning of November 27.The wind speed of the predominant surface wind will be variable in Delhi, with a wind speed of 6 km/h, mostly clear skies and shallow fog in morning on November 28.The bulletin stated that winds are likely to be strong between November 29 and 30, adding that they were likely to be quite strong in the morning on November 28.

India Meteorological Department (IMD), predicted a mostly clear sky and a misty morning Friday.

The maximum temperature for the day was set at 28 degrees Celsius, and the minimum at 11 degrees Celsius.

Thursday’s maximum temperature was 27.8 degrees Celsius, while the minimum was 11.

At 8.30 a.m., the relative humidity was at 95%.
