Delhi HC seeks Centre’s reaction on booster dose

The Delhi High Court sought the Centres opinion on the booster dose of Covid in the country on Thursday.

However, the court noted the increasing support for booster doses in Europe and the USAA division bench of Justices Vipin Sing and Jasmeet Sing heard various issues regarding the Covid crisis and asked the Centre for an affidavit.It covered the aspects relating the booster dose and the timeline in which it is expected to be implemented.

Referring to the AarogyaSetu app, the bench stated that it was up to the Centre to decide whether it would roll out via the app.The bench emphasized the effectiveness of a booster dose for people who have been fully vaccinated.It noted that the medical view suggests that there is a decline in immunity to the disease over time.

It noted that this makes it necessary to give a booster dose to people who are elderly or have other health problems.Rajshekhar Rao, amicus curiosae, raised several issues during the hearing, including the functioning delhifightscorona.in, which is under the Delhi government.
