The court stated that the accused could flee justice if he is released on bail.
Metropolitan Magistrate Manu Shrie dismissed Pradeep Sharma’s bail application, while considering the seriousness and facts at the initial stage.

He said that the accused may have tried to influence witnesses or tamper the evidence if it was enlarged on bail.

The accused was driving an Innova car with a mimicked logo of the Ministry of Home Affairs, and had entered the IB House.

Numerous fake documents were found in the car, including a seal of North Block’s Ministry of Home Affairs. He was arrested on November 17.

Advocate Manoranjan Kumar appeared on behalf of the accused and sought bail on grounds that cheating charges were not brought against him and that the rest of the charges are not serious in nature.

Ankit Srivastava, a public prosecutor, opposed bail because the accused had entered the premises of a secret agency of the government by pretending to be an IPS Officer and using fake stamps of government ministries like Home and Defence.

Accordingly, the Court denied bail for the accused.
