Minister of Defence Rajnath Singh hands over multiple indigenous arms to the Army

New Delhi, Aug 16 : Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday handed several indigenous weapons as well as ammunition to the Indian Army to further boost the defence sector of the country.

Lieutenant General Harpal Singh said, "The Union government has taken a number of policy decisions to encourage the indigenisation of the defense sector.The indigenous weapons that are used include mines and weapons of combat in face-to-face and infantry combat vehicles.

" Rajnath Singh handed over the weapons to the Army in the face of increasing difficulties at the borders of the country.The weapons comprise AK-203 assault rifles as well as F-INSAS (Futuristic Infantry Soldier as a System) rifles, as well as the latest anti-personnel mine called Nipun.
