Congress high command is swiftly moving its steps to carve out new state of Andhra Pradesh by bifurcating Telangana from the mother state.
After introducing the Telangana bill in Lok Sabha on Thursday in a dramatic way attracting lot of resentment, now the UPA government is moving ahead to take up discussion and voting on the controversial bill.
It is likely to take up discussion on Feb 19 giving scope to take up the same in Rajya Sabha on the next day, before the Parliament session concludes on Feb 21.Other side Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy held a brainstorming session on Sunday with Seemandhra Congress leaders.According to reports, sources in state Congress said that Kiran may take a decision resigning over the Telangana issue when the bill comes for discussion in parliament.
CM close aide Veerashiva Reddy confirmed that CM will take a decision on launching of new political party after his resignation.All in all the debate will be most likely initiated on February 19 and on the same day CM Kiran might quits his post Other side The Union law ministry clarified that the Telangana bill did not require any constitutional amendment and can be treated as a simple legislation that can be passed by voice vote if needed.
