They are now seen again together in Meghna Gulzar’s biopic about the 1971 War hero Field Marshal Sam Hormusji Framji Jamshedji Manekshaw.He is fondly remembered in grateful nations by the moniker “Sam Bahadur”. Sanya received positive reviews for her performance in Netflix’s ‘Meenakshi Sundareshwar.’ The announcement was made Monday to coincide Meghna Gulzar’s birthday.Vicky Kaushal will play the role of Sam Bahadur, which has a release date in 2022.
Film’s trailer opens with Gulzar’s memorable words as poet-lyricist and director.He contextualizes the film title, “Sam Bahadur”: “Kai Naamon se Pukare Gaye, ek Naam Se HAMAARE huey.(He had many names but became ours with one).
He was the Chief of Army Staff for India during the victory in 1971 War.
