A Survivor Corps Facebook poll says 27% of Covid-19 patients are reporting severe hair loss.
Till now many have heard headache, dry cough, fever, and other respiratory illness as the symptoms of Covid-19.
But a few people, who have been suffering and recovered from Covid-19, reported a severe hair loss in America.A survey of Survivor Corps stated that out of 1,100 patients 27% expressed this symptom and are worried that they end up bald.
This has caused panic in many Covid-19 patients across the world.However, the dermatologists say that the symptom doesn’t relate to Covid-19 but linked to physiological stress.
They have named the condition as telogen effluvium which can be seen during different types of illness inclusive of malaria and tuberculosis.
The American Academy of Dermatology says that it is common to lose 50 to 100 hair in a day.Losing more than that is a condition related to telogen effluvium and the Covid-19 has nothing to do with it.Apparently, the doctors also say to be cool irrespective of the illness and focus more on the eradication of ill-health.
