India beat the US in the August’s Covid-19 fresh cases tally.
During the first lockdown, no one could have thought that India would be becoming the biggest Covid-19 hotspot in the world.
According to the fresh Covid-19 tally, India registered the highest number of cases in the first week of August surpassing even America.Since two consecutive days, India’s count of fresh Covid-19 cases has not declined 60,000 mark.
On Friday, the count crossed 60,000 along with fatalities rising to 926.The reports claim it as the highest in a single day so far.In the overall tally, India stood at the top with 3,28,903 fresh coronavirus cases in the past week while America with 3,26,111 and Brazil with 2,51,264 cases occupied their respective spots.
Overall, India has 2.09 million confirmed cases out of which 1.43 were recovered, and 42,518 people died.At the world tally, the confirmed cases reached 19.3 million mark where 11.7 million have recovered and the death rate inching towards one million with 719k deaths.
