Bihar Court premises: Cops misbehave in front of a judge

Patna : Nov 18, 2018 - Three people, including the Sub-Inspector and SHO of Ghoghardiha Police Station in Bihars Madhubani District on Thursday, allegedly assaulted Additional Session Judge Avinash K Kumar at the Jhanjharpur sub-divisional courts premises.

He said that police officers also used abusive language and pointed a revolver at Avinash.They threatened Kumar with dire consequences.

Sharma stated that while the cause of the incident remains to be determined, Sharma claimed that police officers were using abusive language.We rushed to Kumars courtroom after the incident.

He said that it was highly unacceptable for the policemen to abuse a high-ranking judicial officer.We demanded that the police officers be taken to task immediately and we also requested the registration of an FIR against a district SP for failing to discipline his subordinate officers.

He said that we already live in fear of criminals, and are now under threat from police officers." Sharma also stated that the Jhanjharpur Sub-divisional Court work has been suspended.

He said, "If the police do not take appropriate action we will appeal the states attorney association to suspend our work for an indefinite time." Several telephonic messages sent by IANS to Satyaprakash, Superintendent, Police, Madhubani went unanswered.
