Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the ground-breaking ceremony on Thursday.

“The actual construction work is expected to begin within the week,” stated Arunvir Singh (CEO of Yamuna Expressway Industries Development Area), which is a key partner for the PPP project.

“We expect to have the first phase operational and completed by September 2024.”

Singh claims that the airport will have one runway and a terminal building in September 2024.

“Our captive area is large enough to meet the passenger demand for such a mega-project.”

“We will still be serving additional areas in UP, Haryana, and Delhi.”

The initial stage of the project will cost Rs 5,730 crore.

Singh also noted that the project has triggered mega industrialization and urbanization trends.

“Over Rs.30,000 crore has been raised for various urban and industrial clusters that will be located in this region, such as the Film City’.”

NIA will be developed and operated by Zurich International Airport Ltd AG (ZAIA), a Swiss-based airport developer, under a 40-year concession.

“The airport’s design was inspired by India and will incorporate elements that are synonymous with Indian architecture.Christoph Schnellmann, CEO of Noida International Airport, stated that the terminal forecourt will include flights of steps similar to the famous ghats Varanasi or Haridwar, welcoming people and bringing them together.

A courtyard will let fresh air and sunlight in the terminal building, giving it the appearance and feel of a haveli.A white translucent roof with a wavy roof, inspired by the major rivers in the region, will give the impression of a flowing stream.

In Indian architecture, the passenger terminal will have intricate ornamental lattice screens as well as red granite.

The mammoth project’s first phase is expected to be completed in 2024.It can carry 12 million passengers annually.

The NIAL is approximately 72 km from the IGI airport, approximately 40 km from Noida and Faridabad and Ghaziabad and about 28 km to Greater Noida.

Gurugram is 65 km away and Agra is 130 km away.

It is currently connected via Yamuna Expressway.

Other multi-modal transport options are also planned.
