Congress Presidential poll on October 17, and counting until Oct 19

New Delhi, Aug 28 : The Congress announced that the election of its next President will take place on the 17th of October.

A gathering of the Working Committee - the partys highest authority for decision-making - on Sunday, approved the election scheduleCongress Election Authority Chairman Madhusudan Mistry announced the dates of the election process following an approval from the CWC, in its meeting that was conducted online and attended by G23 leader Anand Sharma, who had recently resigned as the head of an official party panel for the forthcoming Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections "It (CWC) examined and approved the calendar of dates recommended by the Central Election Authority of the AICC for the election for the position of Congress President," a party statement stated.
