Congress insists on going solo in the Winter session of Bihar Assembly

Patna, Nov 29, : Despite the Congress’s poor performance in the recent Bihar byelections, Monday’s proceedings of the Assembly’s Winter session saw the Congress decide to remain alone.
Here was a meeting of all 19 Congress MLAs, MLCs, where they unanimously voted to forgo old alliance partner Rashtriya Janata Dal.

Ajit Sharma, leader of Congress Legislature Party, said that the alliance between Congress party (and the RJD) was already broken after the latter marginalized us during the run-up for the by-election.They ignored us and gave ticket to their candidate.We have decided to go on our own.”

“Congress is a national party that has run the country for most time since Independence.It can contest elections in any state.RJD had disbanded the alliance during by-election, and a patch up is not possible,” he said.

Sharma also stated that his party had prepared a policy to challenge the Nitish Kumar government, “as law has completely fallen now.”

“Nitish Kumar started Police Raj in Bihar, where cops are entering the rooms and toilets newly-wed brides without any intelligence input or warrants.Is Nitish Kumar unaware of the illegal police work he is appreciating? “Why is he justifying the police act?”

He stated that “We will present these points during the winter session in Bihar Vidhan Sabha” and would demand clear explanations from the Nitish Karma government.
