Hazarika Popy (Indian weightlifter) won the silver medal for the womens category of 59kg at Saturdays 2021 Commonwealth Weightlifting Championships.

Rafiatu Lawal of Niger'a topped the podium with 207kg (92+115), while N Rajapaksa from Sri Lanka lifted 164kg (74)+90 to round out the top three.

Earlier in the ay, Indias Ajay Singh topped Group C n the mens 81 kg, setting a new national record in snatch with a 147 kg lift and had a best attempt of 175kg in clean and jerk to total 322kg.
