Shimla 19 Aug : The state is determined to protect the interests of the horticulturists and farmers through providing wide-ranging facilities of marketing cold storage, cold storage, and controlled atmosphere stores to provide an economic boost, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said on Friday.

He said that the horticulturists will need to submit a Goods and Service Tax (GST) paid bills of containers and trays proof of sale and bank account information linked to Aadhaar to qualify for the subsidy.

This will be a huge relief to the horticulturists of the state, according to the Chief Minister.

Thakur said that late Narendra Bragta who was the former minister of horticulture was not just one of the most powerful figures of the BJP in the region, but also committed to protecting the interests of the horticulturists.

He claimed that Bragta not only was fighting to protect the rights of the farmers, but also stressed diversification and value enhancement of the horticulture products.

He stated that with the gap created by the death of Bragta several leaders were trying to become charitable patrons of the horticulturists.

The Chief Minister announced that the state government had released all outstanding settlements of the growers of apples.The government has not just given much-needed relief in GST to cultivators, but also increased the price of purchase of apples under the Market Intervention Scheme by Rs 3.50 per kilogram.

“The prior government raised the cost of procurement by just Rs 1.50 per kilogram during their time in office,” said Thakur.He also criticized the previous governments of not heeding the needs of the gardeners.

Minister of Urban Development Suresh Bhardwaj in his reflection on the work of Bragta specifically in the area of the development and promotion of horticulture and promotion, stated that Bragta always worked for the improvement of the horticulturists.

BJP Leader Chetan Bragta, while expressing gratitude to the Chief Minister for granting six percent GST reimbursement to farmers for packaging material The Chief Minister has always been attentive to the demands of the apple growing regions.

Chetan is a prominent apple farmer is the son of late Bragta.
