Srinagar : , Nov 29, 2009 – The cold wave intensified in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh as the minimum temperatures fell further in the two union territories on Monday. Meteorological Department (MeT), an official, stated that the minimum temperatures in J&K and Ladakh fell further due to clear night skies, intensifying the cold waves.
“Minimum temperature was minus 1.01 in Srinagar, while it was minus 3.4 in Pahalgam, and minus 2.25 degrees Celsius in Gulmarg.
“Drass town in Ladakh region had minus 11.2, Leh with minus 11.8, and Kargil with minus 7.2 as minimum.
“Jammu had 9.9, Katra 9.2, Batote 9.2, Banihal 0.4, Bhaderwah 2.0 as night’s lowest temperatures.
The official at MeT stated that “in the next 24 hours, the same dry and cold weather conditions will continue.”
