Mumbai, Nov 30, : The makers Code Name Abdul kept the essence of Mera Naam Hai Shabnam’ from Kati Patang, composed by the legendary R.D.
Burman has been left intact because they decided to use the original song for the filmTanisha Mukherjee stars in the film.It is a spy thriller directed and produced by Eshwar Gunturu.
Gunturu believes that remixes and remakes arent necessarily the only way to pay tribute to iconic music.The song was chosen by the director with a specific vision.
Eshwar stated, "We needed to add a bit of zing to our film with the old-world charm of the song." The song adds mystery to our film.
We made it clear that we didnt want to remix it.It was to remain intact.It fits so well into our story, giving it an edge.
The albums first track is Mera Naam Shabnam, which Asha Bhonsle sings with lyrics by Anand Bakshi.The director added that the original song has an atmospheric quality and suggested that a remake might be useful in introducing new audiences to the tracks.
However, we dont believe it is necessary to change something thats already perfect.We didnt want the song to be altered in any way.It has a beautiful atmosphere.This movie marks Tanishas return to mainstream Bollywood.
