A man allegedly chopped off the right hand of a two-month-old baby girl, purportedly in an inebriated condition in Oupada block of Balasore district.
According to sources, one Pankaj Naiki of the village along with his two-month-old baby girl was watching TV at home when accused Ganesh Naiki neighbor of Pankaj, came to the house, and entered into a heated argument.
The situation turned ugly after Ganesh attacked the latter with a sharp weapon.As a result, Pankaj’s palm was cut in half but the right hand of the infant was completely severed.
Villagers immediately informed the matter to the police and rushed the father-daughter duo to Khaira Community Health Centre (CHC).Later, they were shifted to SCB Medical College & Hospital in Cuttack after their health condition deteriorated, sources said.
