The Centre transfer Ayush-64 technology from 46 companies

New Delhi : November 20, 2018 - The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences, (CCRAS), has given the technology of Ayush 64 to 46 businesses.

The CCRAS is the leading institution in Ayurveda research under the Ministry of AYUSH.It has developed Ayush-64.

This was originally developed for treatment of malaria in 1980.Some scientific research found that it was very effective against mild, asymptomatic, and moderate to severe Covid-19 infection during the initial wave in Covid-19.

The drug also helps patients to recover faster by fighting infections, increasing immunity and reducing fever.The license was granted to seven companies earlier, which included the Ayush Ministrys manufacturing unit.

The drug was found to be effective in fighting Covid-19 at the time of the epidemic.Since then, 39 additional companies were granted new licenses.

A clinical trial was conducted by Ayush Ministry in collaboration with the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research.This took place during the initial wave of Covid-19 pandemic.

Eight clinical trials on Ayush-64 have already been completed.It was administered to 63,000 people who were quarantined in their homes.

The drug was also found to be beneficial during the trial.Eight clinical trials were conducted in which patients received only Ayush 64 medicine.
