“Had the people not waived loans of 10 lakh crores for their friends and family members, the Central government wouldn’t have needed to tax milk, curd or the pensions of our soldiers. They’re waiving lakhs of millions of loans to their wealthy friends, while taxing the poor,” Kejriwal said in an announcement to the press on Thursday.

“These people spend public funds on their friends, whereas we donate it to the poor ‘Aam Aadmi’.If all the public money is spent on a handful of people what do we progress as a nation?” he asked.

In a dig at the Centre the Chief Minister stated that they were a participant in the Agnipath scheme because they do not have the funds to pay pension.

“It has not occurred since Independence that the country has been left with no money to pay for pensions for its soldiers.

Where did the money from the Centre go? The Central government shares a portion of tax revenues with the state governments. In the past, it was 42 percent.

The rate has been reduced to 29-30 percent. The Centre has collected twice the amount of taxes it collected in 2014.Where is the money going?” Kejriwal asked.

He said that the Centre’s budget in 2014 was around 20 lakh crore. That’s now Rs 40 lakh crore today.

“The Central government has invested over 10 lakh crore in waiving loans of super-rich individuals, their families.

If they hadn’t removed these loans, then the government would not be required to impose taxes on food consumption or cut off the pension of soldiers,” Kejriwal alleged.
