The Centre has released Rs 95,082 Cr as 2 installments of tax devolution for states

New Delhi : , The Centre released two installments of tax devolution to the state governments, amounting to Rs 95.082 crore, as opposed to the usual monthly devolution of Rs 47.541 crore.This was to assist them in mobilizing resources to support increased capital investment and development of infrastructure.
This release follows the promises made by Nirmala Sitharaman, Finance Minister, after the virtual meeting she had with Chief Ministers and State Finance Ministers on November 15.She stressed the importance of investment and infrastructure and agreed to accelerate tax devolution payments to the states.

The maximum amount that was released to poll-bound Uttar Pradesh is Rs 17.056.66 crore.

Bihar, which has received Rs 9563.30 million more than Madhya Pradesh is next.Madhya Pradesh received Rs.7463.92 million, West Bengal received Rs 7152.96 lakh and Maharashtra received Rs 6006.30 crore.
