The Centre permits export to Indonesia of 20mn Novavax dosages

New Delhi : Nov 19, 2009 - The Centre approved export of 20,000,000 doses of Novavax Covid-19 from the Serum Institute of India to Indonesia.

This was a Friday statement by a Health Ministry officialOfficials also stated that 10 million Covishield doses were allowed to be exported from the Centre to the WHO- and GAVA-led international vaccine-sharing program COVAX.

The source said that although the Centre does not have to make a decision on vaccines for children, it will undergo a scientific review before making a final call.First, the government wants to ensure it has sufficient doses of vaccines for all its citizens.

India has administered two doses of a minimum to 81% and 2 doses to 41%, respectively, to its adult population.There are no plans for the government to provide booster shots immediately.

In the meantime, 110 countries recognized Indias vaccines Covishield & Covaxin and agreed to mutually recognize Covid-19 certificates.In the past 24 hours, 72,948,864 doses of vaccines were administered.As of Friday morning, the Covid coverage in India had reached 115.23 million.These sessions have produced 1,18,392,293 of these results.
