CBI questions Governor Narasimhan!

The Governor of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana E S L Narasimhan was questioned on Wednesday by a special team of CBI in connection with alleged graft in the procurement of AgustaWestland VVIP choppers for Rs.3,726.

96 crore.

Officials quizzed the Governor at Raj Bhavan for nearly one and half hours.As a head of the IB, Narasimhan was a member of the committee that was mandated to procure the helicopters meant for VVIPs.

Several crores were paid as bribe to some Indian defence officials, others and a European middleman.Narasimhan is the third governor to be quizzed in the case by the CBI which previously questioned former Goa governor BV Wanchoo and former West Bengal governor MK Narayanan.

The latter two resigned soon after the interrogation.
