Phnom Penh, Sep 12 : Cambodia’s National Assembly President Heng Samrin on Monday set off on a trip to neighboring nations of Vietnam as well as Laos according to a statement issued by the government.During his trip to Vietnam from Monday through Wednesday, Samrin will meet Vuong Dinh Hue, the chairman of Vietnam’s National Assembly, and pay the courtesy call to General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Nguyen Phu Trong and the President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Xinhua news agency reported as saying.
The most powerful Cambodian legislator will be in Laos from Wednesday through Friday, when he will make respects to President Thongloun Sisoulith as well as Premier Phankham Viphavanh.
He will also have meetings with with other high-ranking Lao legislators.
“The visits will help increase and strengthen cooperation and friendship between Cambodia and Vietnam and with Cambodia and Laos,” said Leng Peng Long secretary general of Cambodia’s National Assembly.
