Jaipur 16 August : the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajasthan Assembly, Rajendra Rathore on Tuesday criticized an assertion made by the Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in which he had accused the BJP of transporting a large amount of unaccounted-for wealth to the offices of the Saffron Party in paramilitary vehicles. “At an era when the people of India were engaged in saluting our soldiers and remembrance their brave actions The Chief Minister of Rajasthan was busy releasing such sloppy remarks,” Rathore said.
“By making these remarks the Chief Minister has also disenchanted the paramilitary forces as well as the police, who ensure inner security of the country,” he added.
Rathore said that if Gehlot has any proof to support his claim of the transport of funds to BJP offices in paramilitary vehicles in the name of demonetisation, then why do you think he not making these public?
Rathore said that, in contradiction to the respectability of the constitutional office he occupies, Gehlot is insulting the soldiers of the paramilitary force by making uncontrolled remarks.
The Chief Minister must retract his statement and apologize as soon as possible according to the BJP leader said.
On Monday, Gehlot had taken a poke at the BJP for “changing” the government in Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka.
In a speech in Shaheed Smarak on Monday Gehlot has said “Do you know what the (BJP) perform? They are able to apprehend paramilitary forces and policemen wherever they are able to have their own government.Staff load cash in trucks and are taken into the back yard of BJP office buildings.
“They then take the boxes and place them inside.Since the vehicles belong police officers, who is able to stop them? This is a huge conspiracy. But Congress workers should not be worried because the truth is with you.”
He said that the government has not changed in states such as Goa, Arunachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and today Maharashtra with “potatoes and onions”.
He also challenged demonetisation, saying, “Modiji brought demonetisation. It’s an issue of common sense. Why did notes worth Rs 1,000 were not issued? Because these notes were large in size. This is the reason why Rs 1,000 notes were substituted with the equivalent of Rs 2,000 notes.”
