Booked for vandalism by BJP corporators at Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Nov 24, : Hyderabad police filed charges Wednesday against BJP officials for vandalizing the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporations (GHMC) head offices on Tuesday.

Despite the fact that 10 of the corporators were arrested at Saifabads police station on Tuesday afternoon, 22 other cases were filed on Wednesday.Officials from the police said that after reviewing the CCTV footage, action will be taken against BJP workers.Earlier, Telangana Minister K.T.Rama Rao asked Anjani Kumar, Hyderabad Police Commissioner, to take tough action against BJPs workers and corporators who vandalized the GHMC office "Some thugs & hooligans from BJP in Hyderabad vandalized the GHMC office yesterday.Rama Rao, who is also the Working President of Telangana Rashtra Samithi(TRS), strongly condemned this atrocious behavior.

He asked the Hyderabad Police Commissioner for stricter action against vandals in accordance with law.On Tuesday, BJP activists and corporators barged into Mayor Vijaya Lakshmi Gadwal’s chamber at GHMC Head Office and staged a sit in protest demanding a council meeting be held and the release of funds.They damaged furniture, broke flower pots, and spray-painted signboards.

The mayor was not present at her office when the incident occurred.On Wednesday, the TRS corporators cleaned the GHMC head offices with milk and condemned the vandalism committed by BJP workers and corporators.

They sent a memorandum asking the Mayor to disqualify the corrupt officials who damaged public property.The ruling party leaders claimed that the BJP corporators had tried to tarnish Hyderabads image.
