Biden pays tribute to the heroes and victims of 9/11 on the 21st anniversary of the tragedy

By Ashe O.Washington 11th, September : US President Joe Biden attended a wreath-laying event in the Pentagon on Sunday, to mark the 21st anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Biden said: "What was destroyed, we have rebuilt.We have also strengthened.

The thing that was attacked, the indomitable spirit has never, ever weakened." In the midst of inclement weather with the steady rain, he attended a wreath-laying ceremony in advance of the speech.

The ceremony started with the reading of the names of all of the men and women killed in the attack on the Pentagon on September 11th, 2001, as per an official White House pool report "To all family members and friends who feel the pain of the missing part of your heart, Im honored to be here with you again to witness this solemn rite of remembering," Biden said at the ceremony "So many heroes were created here.Many of the people you love were among them.

Then, it was almost immediately, with soldiers and civilians taking combat as the walls fell and the roof began to collapse," he said.Biden stated that the Pentagon "was both the site of an horrific terrorist attack, as well as the command center of our defense to defend the American people," adding that "Pentagon personnel showed up for work on the 12th of September with more determination than ever before to ensure the security of the nation".

He extolled the ideal of American democracy in his speech, and invoked the responsibility of every day Americans to defend it."We do not always live up to the ideals of democracy.However, weve never been able to let it go.This is the reason we are strong.This is our identity.

And thats what the hijackers were most eager to eliminate," Biden said, addingthat "they didnt succeed." "We have a responsibility to, a duty to defend, preserve and defend our democracy.

It is precisely this democracy that provides the fundamental rights of freedom that the terrorists who attacked the United States on 9/11 wanted to put to rest in the burning fire , smoke and dust," he said "That requires an effort by the part of everyone of us." ash/v.
