BBC removes Vaughan, former England captain, from its coverage of The Ashes

London, Nov 24, : Former England captain Michael Vaughan was dropped from BBCs coverage panel for The Ashes after his name was mentioned in the racism controversy involving Azeem Rafiq, a former Yorkshire player.

However, Vaughan was not allowed to play in the Ashes team or in wider coverage of the sport at this time "We expect our contributors talk about relevant topics, and his involvement with the Yorkshire story is a conflict of interests." Vaughan "categorically” denied making the comment and claimed that his reputation is being "trashed unfairly".

Vaughan responded to the BBCs decision and said that he was "very disappointed" not to be commentating on TMSs Ashes match.He also expressed his regret at the loss of the opportunity to work with great friends and colleagues.

He said that he was "looking forward" to being behind the microphone for @foxcricket Australia.Vaughan stated on Instagram that "the issues facing cricket are larger than any one case" and that he wanted to be part of the solution by listening, educating himself, and making it a more welcoming sport.
